Description:

War in the Pacific National Historical Park, a national landmark created to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those participating in the campaigns of the Pacific theater of World War II, is an ideal spot for a variety of special activities.

Special Use Permits are required for events and activities that provide and benefit to an individual, group, or organization, rather than the public at large as well as activities not related to the legislatively mandated purpose of War in the Pacific National Historical Park. These permits are issued and approved only after National Park Service staff determines that the activity will not impair park values, resources, and visitor enjoyment.

It is an ideal spot for families or small groups to host a picnic, barbeque, small party, or relax. There are no entry fees. Guam's warm climate, sandy beaches, and turquoise waters beckon visitors to rediscover the island's rich heritage. Fishing, hiking, picnicking, and (for those with experience) snorkeling and diving are among the many recreational opportunities available in the individual park units and around the island

Park historic structures and military equipment are more than 50 years old and are very fragile. Do not disturb any of the historic ground features, such as foxholes, trenches, and bomb craters.

Please do not remove or mark the historic and natural objects beneath the water's surface. They are protected.

Note: Data for this listing was compiled from online sources by UOG social work students enrolled in SW110 Introduction to Community Services on Guam classes (Sections 1 and 2) in the spring semester of 2017.
