The Crisis Intervention Hotline

This program is designed to provide a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week telephone service to respond to crisis calls relative to allegations of abuse or neglect. These calls are then given to an on-duty Social Worker to investigate the perpetrated against the elderly and individuals with disability. Upon determination that an abuse has been committed and in imminent danger, the elderly is then referred to the shelter for protective care upon the consent of the victim if the abuse is of a physical or sexual nature. In other types of abuse, which are non-physical, or non-serious neglected type, case management services are provided.
