Guam Animals In Need, Inc. (GAIN) is a 501(c)(3) organization and is the only animal shelter on the island. GAIN was established 1989 and is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, and to the education of the public concerning matters pertaining to animals and their welfare. The shelter, located in Yigo, has facilities to house and care for dogs and cats, and provides food, shelter, and basic care. GAIN’s main mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, promote the humane treatment of animals and perpetuate the bond between humans and animals. The shelter is located in Yigo about a mile from the front gate of Andersen Air Force Base, on the right hand side of Marine Corps Drive as you head North. We are easy to find on Google Maps too!

Intake Services
- All animals that need to be dropped off (surrendered) must be scheduled in advance. Please call (671) 653-4246 to schedule your drop off. You can also email us at: info@guamanimals.org or message us on Facebook or Instagram.

Emergency Services
- We can accept emergencies at any time. An emergency includes an animal that is acutely injured or actively dying or has bitten/attacked someone. Please call(671) 653-4246 to provide details about your emergency. If your emergency occurs when GAIN is closed, please call (671) 483-1516. Please note that our clinic is equipped for spay/neuter only so we cannot offer extensive veterinary care. But for serious cases we can provide humane euthanasia.

Adoption Services
- Adoption and visitation is currently available Monday-Sunday from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Walk ins are welcome, but we encourage visitors to
contact us and schedule an appointment as well.
- Adoption is $125 for all animals and covers their basic vaccines/dewormers/flea-tick treatment during their time at the shelter, a microchip, rabies vaccine, and spay/neuter surgery.
-To adopt, please fill out our adoption questionnaire on our website and submit. (We don't offer paper applications)

Foster Services
- We are always on the look out for fosters! We are regularly in need of fosters for our adult dogs and cats, many of who would do very well in a home environment learning how to live within a family and experience the immense love they deserve! We occasionally need fosters for infant animals as well as medical fosters (i.e. recovering after spay/neuter surgery).
- Short term and long term fostering available. Fosters are responsible for promoting animal on social media, within the community, and similar to help get the animal adopted.
- GAIN works hand-in-hand with Boonie Flight Project, who works tirelessly to send boonies (from GAIN and the community) to stateside
adopters and rescues/shelters. Short-term fosters for these puppies and dogs, while waiting for their flight date, are always needed too!
- To foster, email stepanie.d@guamanimals.org

Volunteer Services
- GAIN offers volunteer opportunities at the shelter and out in the community.
- At the shelter we are currently accepting volunteers who can spend a couple hours socializing the animals; specifically the adult dogs and cats. Like fostering, this interaction with different people helps the animals become more adoptable and gives them daily love and attention.
- Outside of the shelter, we regularly seek volunteers to assist us with our weekend supply drives that are held at Cost-U-Less and when GAIN hosts different fundraising events (i.e. dog transporters, dog handlers, tabling, and similar)
- Volunteers 14 years and older can volunteer without a parent/guardian but require a parent/guardian signature on the Volunteer Liability
form.
- To volunteer, email tina.erickson@guamanimals.org

Owner’s Request
- We offer humane euthanasia services for pets that are in their final stages of life.
- Cost is $45 and we do ask that you contact us via phone before coming to the shelter to ensure we have the appropriate staff on hand to provide this service.
- If your pet needs to be humanely euthanized (as an Emergency only) while GAIN is closed please call (671) 483-1516.

Microchipping Services
- GAIN offers microchipping, for both dogs and cats, for $10
- Please call (671) 653-4246 to schedule your appointment

Spay/Neuter Services
- GAIN’s SNIP Clinic offers low cost spay/neuter services for $50 and can be contacted at: (671) 988-9421 or snip@guamanimals.org
- To make an appointment to spay or neuter your pet, please do so on the website at www.snipclinicguam.com
