DescriptionThe Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is a government of Guam agency whose primary goal is to enable eligible individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with significant disabilities to achieve employment and community independence through the provision of quality vocational rehabilitation services. Clients work with DVR counselors to ensure that they're doing everything needed to be done to reach their employment goal. All information discussed between individuals and clients are confidential. When a client is in need of services from DVR, he or she must provide details to a counselor about how the service that he or she is requesting for can be beneficial to achieving employment goals. The counselor then helps their client obtain the services that they need to ultimately reach their goals
Services OfferedIf you are eligible, you will be provided services that are available to assist you in achieving an employment outcome that is consistent with our strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests and inform choice. As needed, services may include but are not limited to the following:
A. An assessment for determining eligibility and vocational rehabilitation needs.
B. Vocational rehabilitation counseling, guidance, and services to assist you in exercising informed choices.
C. Vocational and other training services which can include personal and vocational adjustment, books or other training materials.
D. Physical or mental restoration services are available with some restrictions. Items such as prosthesis or orthotic devices, eyeglasses, and treatment for mental or emotional disorders are considered under these services.
E. In some cases, maintenance for additional costs incurred while participating in rehabilitation.
F. Additional services may include interpreter services, rehabilitation teaching services, and orientation and mobility services for individuals who are blind, occupational licenses, tools, equipment, rehabilitation technology services, and on the job or other related personal assistance services while receiving vocational rehabilitation services.
