Gametime Inc. is an official 501 (c) (3) non-profit, FAITH BASED organization established on the island of Guam in 2014. Gametime Inc. is founded by two couples: John V. and Fina Leon Guerrero and Brian and Bernice McGill. They envisioned starting Gametime Inc. to take their passion for God, people, and sports and give back to the youth of Guam. Unfortunately, Guam leads the nation is suicide rates per capita. One (1) person dies every 10 days, and the youngest person was in elementary grade level. By reaching one child and one family at a time we hope to decrease these numbers. Gametime Inc. provides a variety of services to help families on our island. Our goal is to strengthen the family dynamic and empower them for success individually and as a whole unit. We offer a variety of programs that will help us achieve our goal of providing FAMILY ENGAGEMENT, ACADEMIC SUPPORT and STUDENT ENRICHMENT in our community. We believe we are (3) part being physical, spiritual, and emotional. We are passionate about helping each person grow in these areas.

PHYSICAL - Gametime Goal: STUDENT ENRICHMENT
Football Hope Camps
Gametime hosted a 3-day youth football HOPE CAMP in December 2022. Since HS football was pushed to 4th Quarter this school year, we provided athletes an opportunity to be trained by some amazing coaches stateside. These coaches have ties to Guam and are passionate about discovering and training some hidden talent we have on island. Hope stands for Hold on Pain Ends and we ended the camp with a one-day suicide prevention conference as well. Football is a more positive coping method compared to drugs or alcohol when dealing with deep emotional pain and suicide. Coach Ikei and Coach Diaz also discussed college recruiting strategies for the youth. They emphasized the importance of having a good attitude and strong work ethic. We look forward to hosting more HOPE camps throughout the year.

One Day
Sports Camps
Our one-day sports camp is a condense version of the HUDDLE. We host one day sports camps at elementary schools well as Community Centers on island. The youngest person recorded to take their life on Guam was less than 10 years old. While we know this is a very sensitive subject for parents, we want to come alongside them and help support and bring awareness to this issue. We tell the kids the bible story of a man named Joseph who went through many hardships but in the end helped is family. We use it to teach the kids SELF HELP SEEKING BEHAVIORS. WE encourage them to ask for help if they are thinking of hurting themselves (cutting, suicide etc.) As a result, in one of our schools we were at 16 elementary kids came forward that were cutting themselves. Glory to God those are 16 kids we potentially saved from suicide.

THE HUDDLE: Strategies to Win in Life
We started a program (a bible study club) at a local Middle School called the HUDDLE in 2016. We incorporated sports for the first half of the class followed by teachings lead by our some of our young adult leaders. We used the curriculum called WISE UP which took biblical principles to teach the kids character building concepts. We also included suicide awareness and prevention concepts as well. Our young leaders are all SAFE TALK trained for suicide. Our adult leaders are Asist Trained as well. The children really look forward to Gametime coming each year that there is a waiting list to join our program. Our hope is soon we can have THE HUDDLE at all middle schools throughout the island. The Huddle - the place for truth, teaching strategies for kids to WIN IN LIFE.

EMOTIONAL - Gametime Goal: FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Ray’s of Hope; Support Group
In lieu of the survivors of suicide support group and the widow women support group, we host the Rays of Hope in the community. Our main goal is to give grief a voice and educate the community that Grief is not just death and divorce. According to the Grief Recovery institute there are 43 Loss events that a person will experience in their lifetime. These losses can cause a person a DEEP EMOTIONAL PAIN which can lead to suicide and other mental health issues. We meet once a month at the Gametime Office in Tamuning and are partnered the TU;MA organization. We usually meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month but sometimes life happens and that can change. So please follow us on social media to get the monthly details. It is an open group, so anyone is welcome to attend. You are not alone in your journey to healing.
